Clone Name | LO-FLUO-1 |
Applications | ELISA, FC |
Recommend Dilution | ELISA: 0.5 µg/ml. Flow Cytometry. |
Host | Rat |
Clonality | Monoclonal |
Immunogen | FITC conjugated Mouse immunoglobulin. Spleen cells from immunised LOU/c rats were fused with cells of the IR983F rat myeloma cell line. |
Specificity | This antibody reacts with Fluorescein Isothiocyanate. Avidity against FITC conjugated BSA is 2 x 10e10M-1. This antibody binds to both Free FITC and FITC conjugated to proteins, and may be valuable for amplification of FITC based immunostaining. |

Concentration | lot specific |
Purification | Affinity Chromatography. |
Conjugation | Biotin |
Storage Condition | Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. |
Background | FITC (fluorescein isothiocyanate) is a fluorochrome dye that absorbs ultraviolet or blue light causing molecules to become excited and emit a visible yellow-green light. This emission ceases upon removal of the light causing the excitation. Fluorochrome labeling provides rapid, accurate localization of antigen-antibody interaction when one of the reactants is part of a cell, tissue or other biological structure. FITC is a commonly used marker for antibodies in immunofluorescent techniques since the conjugation of FITC to proteins is relatively easy and does not, in general, destroy the biological activity of the labeled protein. FITC is widely used as a hapten to label different proteins. |
Synonyms | Fluorescein Isothiocyanate |
