Summary	Receptor for secretin (SCT), which is involved in different processes such as regulation of the pH of the duodenal content, food intake and water homeostasis (PubMed:20927047, PubMed:24273196, PubMed:30449620). The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase (PubMed:30449620). Upon binding to secretin, regulates the pH of the duodenum by (1) inhibiting the secretion of gastric acid from the parietal cells of the stomach and (2) stimulating the production of bicarbonate (NaHCO(3)) from the ductal cells of the pancreas (By similarity). In addition to regulating the pH of the duodenal content, plays a central role in diet induced thermogenesis: acts as a non-sympathetic brown fat (BAT) activator mediating prandial thermogenesis, which consequentially induces satiation (PubMed:30449620). Mechanistically, secretin released by the gut after a meal binds to secretin receptor (SCTR) in brown adipocytes, activating brown fat thermogenesis by stimulating lipolysis, which is sensed in the brain and promotes satiation (PubMed:30449620). Also able to stimulate lipolysis in white adipocytes (PubMed:24273196). Also plays an important role in cellular osmoregulation by regulating renal water reabsorption (PubMed:17283064). Performance Guranteed	OriGene guarantees that at least two of the three Dicer-Substrate duplexes in the kit will provide at least 70% or more knockdown of the target mRNA when used at 10 nM concentration by quantitative RT-PCR when the TYE-563 fluorescent transfection control duplex (cat# SR30002) indicates that >90% of the cells have been transfected and the HPRT positive control (cat# SR30003) provides 90% knockdown efficiency. For non-conforming siRNA, requests for replacement product must be made within ninety (90) days from the date of delivery of the siRNA kit.
