Protein Description | Recombinant human ICAM-1 is a 49.5 kDa glycoprotein comprising the extracellular domain (453 amino acid residues) of ICAM-1. Monomeric glycosylated ICAM-1 migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 72.0-80.0 kDa by SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing conditions. |
Storage | Store lyophilized at 2-8°C for 6 months or at -20°C long term. After reconstitution store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C long term. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. |
Stability | Shelf life: one year from despatch. |
Bioactivity | Biological: ICAM-1 supported the adhesion of more than 50% PMA-stimulated HSB2 cells to plates coated at 25μg/ml ICAM-1 concentration |
Endotoxin | < 0.1 ng per µg of ICAM-1 |

Summary | This gene encodes a cell surface glycoprotein which is typically expressed on endothelial cells and cells of the immune system. It binds to integrins of type CD11a / CD18, or CD11b / CD18 and is also exploited by Rhinovirus as a receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
