Formulation	This polyclonal antibody is supplied as a lyophilized powder. The powder should be rehydrated with 50ml of RIA buffer. Upon reconstitution to 50ml total volume, the solution contains 0.1M sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.4), 0.05M NaCl, 0.1% BSA, 0.01% NaN3, and 0.1% Triton X-100. Store at 4° - 8°C. This should ensure antibody stability for approximately one month.

Background	Peptide YY (PYY), also known as peptide tyrosine tyrosine, is a 36-amino acid peptide related to the pancreatic polypeptide (PP) family, with 18 of its 36 amino acids located in the same positions as pancreatic polypeptide. The two major forms of peptide YY are PYY1-36 and PYY3-36, which have PP fold structural motifs. PYY is released from cells in the ileum and colon in response to feeding, and exerts its action through neuropeptide Y (NPY) receptors. It has been shown to reduce appetite and may suppress pancreatic secretion. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with Peptide YY coupled to a carrier protein.
