Specificity	This antibody recognizes a determinant topographically related to terminal N-acetyl-D-galactosamine in blood group A specific trisacharride. Haemagglutination activity is inhibited by D-GalNac. The A antigen is widely distributed in the erythrocytes cells and tissues and body fluids of A positive individuals. The reactive group GalNAca1-Ser (or Thr) is exposed in sialoglycoproteins of individuals with Tn syndrome irrespective of their A antigen status. The antibody HE-24 distinguishes blood group A1B from A2B. The specifity of the antibody was verified on > 1000 samples of blood.
