Product Components The ORF clone is ion-exchange column purified and shipped in a 2D barcoded Matrix tube containing 10ug of transfection-ready, dried plasmid DNA (reconstitute with 100 ul of water).
Reconstitution 1. Centrifuge at 5,000xg for 5min.
2. Carefully open the tube and add 100ul of sterile water to dissolve the DNA.
3. Close the tube and incubate for 10 minutes at room temperature.
4. Briefly vortex the tube and then do a quick spin (less than 5000xg) to concentrate the liquid at the bottom.
5. Store the suspended plasmid at -20°C. The DNA is stable for at least one year from date of shipping when stored at -20°C.
Note Plasmids are not sterile.  For experiments where strict sterility is required, filtration with 0.22um filter is required.

Gene Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a peripheral membrane protein localized to the trans-Golgi network. It is sensitive to brefeldin A. This encoded protein contains a GRIP domain which is thought to be used in targeting. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2009]
Transcript Variant: This variant (1) represents the longer transcript and encodes the functional protein. CCDS Note: This CCDS representation does not have any full-length human transcript support, but it is supported by overlapping partial transcript evidence, including AF432211.1, AK090813.1, AK308707.1, and several tiled ESTs. This representation is also supported by studies in PMID:18946081, which functionally characterizes this protein, and by homology support in mouse (NP_081651.2, CCDS23859.1) and rat (NP_001101103.1). PMID:18243103 also describes a partial crystal structure for this protein.
