Background	Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH) is a 39 amino acid peptide hormone produced and secreted by cells of the anterior pituitary gland. It is an important component in therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. This hormone is central to the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, a major neuroendocrine system that controls reactions to stress and regulates many body processes, including digestion, the immune system, mood and emotions, and energy metabolism. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (1-39) coupled to a carrier protein.
